Become a Volunteer for We Connect The Dots

We Connect the Dots is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that delivers experiential learning programs and 21st century workforce skills training to students all over the world. Our organization relies on volunteer support in myriad ways, and we are always on the lookout for capable and dedicated individuals to join our team.

We need volunteers to help us coordinate and deliver our programs, speak at our events, mentor our students, attract sponsors, secure donors, market our programs, offer tech support and drive registrations. If you are an industry professional and would like to speak at an event please let us know. No experience with coding, computer science, or technology needed to volunteer. However, if you do have experience in coding or technology, we would be happy to suggest our mentoring program for students.

Mentors

Mentors attend our programs as coaches and facilitators of the learning experience for our students. Mentors work closely with students as they navigate and work through projects, and offer guidance as needed based on their expertise, knowledge, and experience. During our programs, mentors are assigned to student groups to assist them in navigating the projects and meeting their deadlines, acting as both a guide and a facilitator through the process.

Educator Volunteer

Educators attend our programs as coaches and facilitators of the learning experience for our students. Educators work closely with students as they navigate and work through projects, and offer guidance as needed based on their expertise, knowledge, and experience. During our programs, educators are assigned to student groups to assist them in navigating the projects and meeting their deadlines, acting as both a guide and a facilitator through the process. Educators can also participate as instructors of specific content that is delivered during the program, providing an opportunity to either co-lead a session or work with an industry expert to increase knowledge in a specific industry.

Here is what our volunteers say about their experience with supporting We Connect The Dots…

Volunteering for WCTD has offered me many learning opportunities over the years. With technology changing so fast, WCTD is constantly providing cutting-edge technology educational programs that enable students and volunteers like me to stay skilled for the 21st century.
— Allison B.
WCTD has taught me the joy that comes from seeing not only your own success, but that of those you’ve taught how to succeed.
— Raffi S.
Volunteering at WCTD has allowed me to learn about the importance of providing access to education about digital technology to the many students and adults whose schools and communities do not have the resources to do so. The gap between the “haves” and the “have nots” is widening due to technology. WCTD is helping to close that gap and provide everyone with an opportunity to learn and have a brighter future.
— Garry S.
Volunteering at WCTD has allowed me to share and spread my knowledge to curious minds. To show others how to use cutting edge technology to help make their ideas a reality.
— Luis T.
Volunteering for WCTD has taught me how important it is to provide resources to those interested in a future in STEAM. It’s is a constantly changing field and WCTD has allowed me to see the importance of empowering those who will change the future.
