Celebrating a Decade of Innovation: Welcome Back to Hackathon!

Join us for the 10th annual Hackathon, where creativity, coding, and collaboration collide! Our journey began in 2015 with the original Hackathon, but in those early days, the term "hack" raised concerns among parents worried about teaching their teens to hack. To ease those concerns, we rebranded as Codeathon, focusing on coding skills and making parents more comfortable with their kids participating. Now, as the tech landscape has evolved and the term Hackathon has gained widespread acceptance, especially among young innovators, we’re bringing back the name that truly captures the spirit of our event. This year, we’re returning to our roots, embracing the excitement and innovation that a Hackathon brings. Parents now understand the value of this experience: it’s not about hacking in the old sense but about breaking boundaries, building new ideas, and preparing for the future. Come be part of the next generation of tech trailblazers!

Whether you're a coding novice or a tech enthusiast, our Hackathon offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

Individual entrants will be grouped into teams of four, fostering collaboration and diverse thinking. Pre-formed teams are also required to have four members. 2020 Photos and student projects

First Place Winners: Drone Earth

Left to Right: Bram, Alvin, Syed, Cyril

This team received the first-place award for their unique use of drones to solve the increasingly detrimental issue of waste management. By prototyping a garbage drone with visual design software, these boys demonstrated a feasible concept. Also, incorporating React allowed this team to have the most intuitive and appealing website design.

Second PLace Winners: Reduce Traffic Mortality Rates

Left to Right: Nawal, Massimo, Japera, Viraj

By tackling a leading cause of death in the world, this group received the second-place award. In order to reduce motor vehicle crashes, drones would be flown to patrol intersections and send help to the victims. This team’s website displays a simple and functional layout with a focus on navigation.

Third Place Winners: Aid to the amazon

Left to Right: Calder, Arwa, Gabrielle, George

Through the current environmental issue of deforestation, this group exemplified the need for drones in the Amazon rainforest. With the use of drones, areas being burned can be patrolled and information can be gathered. Their website design maintains an appropriate theme with a unique donation feature built into the site.
